It's ironic that this attractive actress with the crooked smile drew more attention for her brief marriage to young superstar Tom Cruise than for any of her film appearances. She cut a stylish figure, albeit one of very little substantive appeal, in several 1980s films, beginning with Blue Skies Again (1983). She costarred in the short-lived TV series "Paper Dolls" (1984), and played Michael Keaton's wife in the popular comedy Gung Ho (1986). She was the smoldering socialite who tempted working-class cop Tom Berenger in 1987's Someone to Watch Over Me. Christopher Reeve's girlfriend in Street Smart. The unknowing object of a voyeur's desire in Hider in the House. A decadent aristocrat in The Mighty Quinn. An imperiled housewife in Desperate Hours (1990), and a hip photojournalist in The Doors (1991). Her supporting role in the muddled thriller White Sands (1992) was drastically cut prior to the film's release. Little by little, she ekes out favorable reviews for her work. Additional work includes Far From Home: The Adventures of Yellow Dog and Bulletproof Heart.
