Coolly intelligent, attractive actress who began in experimental theater and off-Broadway plays before landing a part on the soap opera "The Doctors." She made her film debut in the silly vampire bat epic Nightwing (1979). She appeared in several critical failures-The Hunter (1980, opposite Steve McQueen), The Pursuit of D. B. Cooper (1981), and Yes, Giorgio (1982, opposite opera star Luciano Pavarotti)-as well as many interesting projects like Albert Brooks' Modern Romance (1981), The Sender (1982), Heartbreakers (1984), and Into the Night (1985). Few, however, were widely seen-except for the Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle Raw Deal (1986)-and she never made the cut of A-list actresses. Harrold has had more success (relatively speaking) on TV, with a number of short-lived series like "MacGruder and Loud" (1985), "The Bronx Zoo" (1987-88), and "I'll Fly Away" (1991-93). She also played Lauren Bacall in the 1980 TV movie Bogie She joined the second season of "The Larry Sanders Show" as Garry Shandling's ex-wife.
