Adriana Lima was born on June 12, 1981, in Salvador da Bahia,
Brazil and began her modelling career at the age of 13. Three years
later, she moved to New York, joining Elite Management. Her first
"big job" was the ad campaign for Anna Molinari. Now, she's one of
the most recognized Brazilian models, following the ad campaign for
Guess?, that put her on magazines, buses, phone booths, and
billboards everywhere, and modeling for the world's top designers.
But she didn't forget her homeland, and she uses her fame to work
with orphanages, fulfilling her childhood dream. Her debut on the
screens as an actress was in 2001, with _Follow, The (2001)_ (qv),
a small (6 and a half minutes) BMW film, but, nevertheless, it's a
start.
